55mm offset with prelude Si wheels on a 94 accord???
I'm planning to pickup a set of prelude Si (7-spoke) wheels, but want to be certain everything will work w/o any problems. The wheels are 15"x6.5" w/ a 55mm offset. I have a 1994 honda accord w/ the EX wheels and 205/55/15 tires (which will be reused w/ the prelude wheels). I'm also lowered about an inch to inch and a half on eibach prokits...
So all in all, would everything work fine? Things to consider or things to be concerned about (such as alignment, rubbing, etc)?
oh yea, and will i need any new parts like studs or lug nuts?

im pretty sure you wont have any problems...but you might wanna get them balanced and get an alignment also just to make sure ya know? what are you gonna do with the EX wheel...if you gonna sell them i might be interested..lemme know man
Just something for you to consider: During a recent oil change, I found out my 94 Prelude VTEC rims with 205-55's are rubbing on the springs and other parts. My suspension is stock. Therefore, I need spacers ASAP.
if you guys have lowered your car, how low are you guys?
So I would need 5mm spacers for sure? What about the rear?

hmm... do you think a 5mm spacer up front will be fine w/ 205/55/15 tires? It's kinda hard to get everything off the car and then sit and wonder what kind of spacer to use. Is there anyway Im supposed to check the clearance when I'm putting them on? Turn the wheel from lock to lock and see if it rubs???
even if they do weigh more than the accord wheels, they are 6.5" wide, better than the 5.5" wide accord wheels. My accord really isn't going anywhere fast (stock f22 motor), I might as well work on the other parts first.

you do know those wheels are 22 lbs a piece right? heavy *** rims
Problem with a 5mm spacer (which is the thinnest you can get) is that you need longer wheel studs. Those are laborious to change.
hmm... how much can I expect to pay for labor to studs/spacer done right?
argh...
if i get a set of aftermarket wheels, such as rotas or koings, is it possible to get an offset that will bolt right up to the studs I have now? I'd like something easy to install, and where I won't have to worry about a spacer/incorrect offset.

Rears are pretty damn easy, 'cause it's easy to get the rear hub on and off easy.
If you're doing the front studs, might as well do your front rotors (if you need them) 'cause you gotta R&R the hub, which we all know is a PITA.

A +45 ET may work. I use a +38 ET (lower numbers mean higher offset) which gives plenty of room (but with 225s the rears rub the fender lip under full compression).
More like 18lbs. each.
the 94-96 rims are 16 lbs each

the 92-93s are heavy. the 94-96s are light.

i was just differentiating the heavy 92-93 and the light 94-96
the pictured ones are the heavy 92-93
the 94-96 have 9 slanted spokes
22 lbs is a lot of weight for a 15" rim
