97 civic jdm b18c with major problems need help
sunday night i was driving back to my house, and i turned on my road, and the car just cut off on me, so i pull over, it barely wants to start, and when it does it has a terrible miss fire...so i tow it home, and just let it sit, it was 130 in the morning, and havent had a chance to play with it till today, when i pulled the plugs out they were disgusting, so i replaced them, still same thing, replaced wires, same thing just replaced the cap and rotor... i was staring at it today after i noticed the plug wire wouldnt go down and seal to the valve cover and i looked down into cylinder #2 and in the spark plug hole, there is like this metal piece thats round and smooth on the inside, sticking out, with a hex pattern around it...and its sticking completely up therefore, plug wire has about a 1 inch gap away from the head where its supposed to seal...
any ideas fellas??
anyhelp is appreciated

I don't know about some of your other problems but I have seen the same thing happen to other cars before. You mentioned that you changed the distributor cap and rotor but did you replace the coil and ignitor?
I have replaced the coil and ignitor or other cars that shut off while they were running and it usually fixes the problem. Hopes this helps.

maybe something just fell down the spark plug hole. and it sounds like your ignitor went bad. a bad ignitor will cause a bad misfire
