Default usdm hood on jdm front end?!?

i've already searched and cant really find any info on this... it wont be a permanent fix since i already have a hood ordered, but i need something now...

ok guys i need some help.... i have the full siR front end on my ef hatch minus the hood... i've ordered one from passwordJDM but they are taking forever to ship it out...

if i went to a junk yard and pulled a usdm hood, what modifications would it need to fit the jdm front end? i would plan on using hood pins anyways, so does it just not fit over the headlights right?

anyways its like rainy season in jackson right now and i cant really drive anywhere...

I'm sure you could rig it up somehow if you don't mind destroying the USDM hood. I'm fairly certian that the SiR front is a little longer and the headlights are longer than USDM ones as well (just from what I've seen, never done the swap myself). Take the hood spring / latch assembly out and trim some of the old hood off to fit the headlights, then use hood pins or a midget in your engine bay to hold it down. I take no responsibility for the midget however.

Yeah, don't quote me on the length thing, but I know you have to lengthen the front bulkhead by about 1/2" to get it to fit correctly, but that's using the latch and everything else. Or just throw a tarp with some duct tape over it, maybe you can start a new trend!

haha... its actually sittin in the parking lot outside at work with a giant grey tarp on it cuz it looks like its gonna rain today...

otherwise i just roll around town with no hood... all i know is that it runs cold all the time cuz it constantly has air blowing over the whole motor... so it never really warms up unless i sit still in traffic for a while

well its just kind of a hassle right now.. cuz i cant really go to walmart or the movies or anywhere else that my car would have to sit outside for a while... cuz people are nosey and mean... i dont want to come outside and my engine get messed with... and i cant drive in the rain... and i dont really think its that great to drive around with my motor running that cold all the time...

so i'd just like to put a hood on it for now... the siR hood is "supposedly" on the way... but its not here, and it hasn't even been shipped yet...

i have the JDM front end on with the USDM hood cause my fricking hood got jacked(engine fell on it) and it looks like crap. I just put the USDM headlights back on and kept the JDM bumper for now. the JDM is deff longer by maybe an inch. Ch3Mik was right....it will hit the JDM headlights and you dont want to jack those up. switch the hood and headlights with USDM for now. thats my $.02
