Default question about gas gauge

I know that the 600rr's have gas gauges and i was wondering

would it be possible to put a gas gauge on other sport bikes? Specifically my f4i

has anyone done it or know what would need to be done in order to do it?

Id love to have a gas gauge on my bike

Sure anything is possible but its just more work than its worth imho. After a few tanks you should know how many miles your bike gets on a tank and use your tripometer as your gas gauge after that. The low fuel light should just be a warning for you, you should know approx. how many miles you have left.

I just use a lighted match and hold it inside the tank opening, works everytime.

yup, tripometer is the universal gas guage.
My friend had an RR and the gas guage wasn't that nice. It seemed like it was always off. I can just look at my trip and see how far i've gone, versus how far i can go, and bam. I'd say that's even better than a gas guage. A gas guage will tell you how much gas you have using an interprative picture or analog guage, but a tripometer tells you numerically how much further you can go. Last night i had 103 miles on the trip, and i knew i had been riding hard thus lowering my MPG so i figured i had about 15-20 miles left on the tank. I went out for a ride, and bam, right at 125 the light came on.

Sometimes I want to rip the damn gas gauge out of my teg. It will go from F to 5/8's then back to F sometimes.

Or you can do like Ducati tanks of old and put a clear stripe on the side as a gauge.

you hold it in there? i drop it in the tank and count how many seconds it takes for it to go out and use the acceleration of gravity and calc it out.
