vtec ?

Default vtec ?

well im tradeing my stock 94 cx hatch for a 91 crx with a jdm b16 swap and the guy had a mugen chip installed so that vtec kicks in a 4300rpm and i was always told that it was bad for it 2 kick in be for 5000 so i was wondering if it was bad for the motor of if it didnt really matter any input would b nice

It's not bad for the motor at all, just not optimal for power. To really see where the best activation point is you need to take it to a dyno and see how the graph looks. If the B16 is stock though, stock act. pt. is prolly best.

in my friends car, the vtec kicks in at 4700 rpm, with pr3 ECU,
