Default Still Trying To Choose A Motor..

I have a 1991 Integra and i am still undecided on what engine I want..

right now my car is already preped and ready to drop an engine in..

i dunno wat motor to choose...

i already have a b18a1 already to put in..

but have apotential b16a but its $850 and i dont really have that kind of money right

now...

or save up for that or an h22

or my friend might get a b16a for her 96 integra and she might give me her b16a1..

with vtec i think..

so can u help me decide??

thanks

if you dont have the money for the b16a then you dont have money to do much at all cause thats one of the cheapest engines around...

until you settle your money issues your not gona get anywhere...

we all get money problems now and then... when you are low on money is not a time to be spending it on your car hahahah though as a car builder i rarely listen to that rule either...

go with a b16a with the cable tranny. it is cheap, short gear ratio and set up for the car. you will have to get a wiring conversion but they are easy to install. i was gonna go with a b16a2 at first but decided against it being as how much more expensive it was with converting the cluch and everything

Delayed satisfaction.
The way I see it is, its all or nothing. Save up your money, and have everything done right with the right parts the way YOU want it the first time. I don't know about everyone else but I don't want to buy an IM now, then have to save up $$ for a couple more months then get a header then save again to get something else, and yadda yadda yadda. but thats just my .02

You want to do an engine swap but a measily $850 is to much for you?

racing is not cheap.

You will want torque with that chassis - get alteast an 1.8 ls or b20. Obviously the best would be b18c.

I am of the opinion that a b16 in an Integra is a bad idea. But it would seem that this is irrelevant, if you don't have the cash. Save up and throw a K into an eg... all the cool kids are doing it.

wwwwaaaaayyyyy to expensive for his budget.

if u jus want some decent power and wanna spend less than $850 i would say ur not gonna get much. but u can do things that dont add power but increase response like... exedy clutch, light flywheel, or u can go with some minor **** like i/h/e. buit i would recommend just save about $100 and do ls/vtec on the motor that u have now. dont go switchin to an eg chassis, a dc chassis or anything like these people are saying. cause as far as i remember u were asking for upgrades on ur car not interested in a new car

Don't do the B16A that **** will be dog slow, and a waste of your hard earned money that you don't have...Save your money, then search for a B16 head at the honda-tech marketplace, I am sure you'll find a good deal...Then save a little bit more and have some build you an LSV. But really sounds like you need to save your money... IMO I'd keep the LS engine you have, tune it get some spark plugs, and sparkplug wires, a new dizzy cap and rotor, a new fuel filter....Then once you have about $1000 bucks go turbo with 404 cams and ARP head studs forged pistons would be nice but that's more money....LS-T best bang for the buck IMO...

LS Turbo > b16 n/a
LS n/a < b16 n/a
LSVtec > b16n/a
LSVtec < b16 Turbo

In your situation, keeping your b18a and booting it will definately give you the most bang for you $$
If you want to stay n/a then i'd say buy that b16 and put the head on your b18a and sell the b16 block and internals...
