i had a b16a in my 88 crx si. and put a b18a in to replace it. my b16 needs a rebuild. my question is besides not needing vtec wiring are there any distributor changes? i know with the zc you have to change 4 wires on the dizzy, is that so on the ls also? and there is a nock sensor on the ls but i thought they werent supposed to have them.

 

no distributor wiring changes are required going from B16A to B18A1

 

You will have extr wires if you are going from B16 to LS but everything should be the same and you'll have extr wires from the Vtec

I don't think LS came with knock sensor any years but i could be wrong...I think you are look at the fan switch/temp sensor which is in a similar location to the Kncock sensor, OBD0 motors have it located on the back of the block where OBD1 and up have it on ther thermo housing
