What sort of fuel mileage does an S2000 get on the track?
Looking for a rough guess of the mileage of a well built K20 motor...it's in a sports racer that I'm going to compete against so I'm trying to guestimate what kind of mileage they'll get.
Anyone?
Anyone?
I tracked my S2000 several times. I think I got 10 mpg. Your sports racer might do better than that since it will probably be much lighter.
I was going to guess 11, though I never drove one on track. Seems like ~10 is popular number for high output NA 4 banger hondas. I never saw worse than 8 in my turbo Integra.

Being that it's lighter, it'll spend less time braking, less time cornering, but less time on the straight too..
Yeah you're right, he'll get better economy. If he turns a lap time 10% faster than an S2000 (instead of a 1:30 at some track, a 1:21) and spends about the same % of time on the gas, he'll be getting 11 MPG instead of 10.. not a big difference unless you're trying to guess the exact lap he'll pit.
