Default el gauge question

I have a set of el gauges for an automatic and I was wondering if there was any way to make it so the letters for park, reverse, neutral etc. didn't light up so I could use it on my 5 spd prelude or so I can modify it and sell it to someone to use on their 5 speed?

i'm not sure but i would figure you could just take it apart and then un-solder those leds/bulbs.

or if you are really fancy, paint it. i mean if you are carful you won't really notice it. because the el gauge is dark even when lit.

i dunno

simple. all you have to do is remove the faceplate and use black electrical tape to cover the letters from the inner side of the face
