Default Dash Electrical Problem - Need Help!

New member, who has done a search, needs help!

I'd like to disable/disconnect the factory alarm (under-dash location?) that signals when door and/or seat belt circuits are open.

My 90 DX hatch has a dash warning light that remains "ON" indicating a door is open. The light is on when both doors are closed and the alarm starts beeping a few moments after getting under way - it won't go off! I want if fixed or "OFF" with no complications.

I've removed and cleaned both door switches, with no change. I have not yet tested the switches for proper function.

Before diving into a myriad of electrical woes, will anyone offer some likely causes and solutions?

Thanks, in advance!

It's not the door switches - I swapped the switches from my Prelude to the Civic; they are the same. The "door open" dash light still stays on after the swap.

Anybody have similar problems with their alarm/sensor where it won't stop beeping?

Are the seat-belt switches a possible problem?

And I'd still rather disable the alarm permanently.

Thanks for all advice!

I had the same issue with the overhead light/dash light always being on. I bought new switches and it went away. I tried using my switches off of my crx and it did not fix it so I bought new ones just to try and it fixed it.
