Default Making your not-so-perfect CF lip fit - what did you do?

Just spent quite a while searching for methods people did to make their not so perfect cf lips out of the box fit. Couldn't find anything too solid

The usual scenario:

1) packages arrive, you're all happy! -unwrap, wow looks mint!

2) go to your ride straight away, sit on the floor get your *** dirty in anticipation of how it will look

3) attempt to fit;

-start front centre... wow that lines up nice
-work your way around to the right hand side of the car, it still fits mint.
-go to the left hand side, what the! theres bout a inch or so to reach to the fender.
- you try force to fit, and the **** wont bend anymore and it feels like its gonna snap!
- give up for now and look at the cf lip sitting on your bedroom floor.

(anyway i bought a racecraft spoon style lip and this is the case)

if returning it is not an option, what did you do to make it fit?
take bumper off for more flexibility and found it fit? heat it up??

Hope this post can bring some defenitive methods, as it seems its a very common problem

imo i think your best bet would be to return it. one inch is alot to stretch when its cf. i could be wrong tho

So let me get this straight? You did'nt take off your bumper correct? You have to take off the front bumper to put on a lip. When I got my VIS cf lip I tried to test fit it and it was too short so I thought it would'nt fit. It was'nt till I took off the front bumper till I saw that it actually fit perfect.

Don't have the car at the moment til the weekend, so i'll pull off the bumper then.

Thanks -Todd-, im new to putting kits on / lips on cars, hopefully it'll fit sweet once the bumper is off.

Did you screw it on completely tight with the bumper off? or did you do the final tightening once on the car? did the bumper bolt on again with the lip on no problems?

Pics/update in the weekend

looks like it isn't aligned properly, but it looks REAL good for what it is...
I usually don't like that style lip on the EK, but it honestly doesn't look bad, congrats.

people copy that style where it hangs lower on the sides but it is made for 99 up... ive seen some sold and a 96-98 lip wouldnt fit on that bumper anyways.. its too long

The pics were pre-screwed on, so once it was screwed on it lined pretty much perfect all round.

The dude who helped me manhandled it on (local customiser), said yes it was a tight fit, but that would be better then having a it miles bigger, and was happy with the overall quality / fit compared to others he had seen...

I paid bout 190$USD, no freight charge - carry on luggage on the plane

Umm thats because REAL spoon doesnt exist for the 99-00 front. Only knock offs which are just 96-98 lips redesigned to "fit" the 99-00. Personally im not sure that there IS a more tacky looking lip... just my opinion though
