225/50-16 too big for a crx?

try to keep in mind that the heaviest part of a wheel and tire combo is the tire. The further you push the weight away from the axis the more you hurt the performance aspect of the wheel tire combo.

Well I think I don't really have to worry about the acceleration part because it already has 225whp+ and will have more soon. I would just like I tire that will hookup fairly well on the street.

I run 205/40/16, with a 38mm offset, and no rubbing even on sharp turns, but my crx is not slammed either, it's got about 1 inch left to drop, and that helps. Needless to say a good set of coilovers not only give you a nice ride, but flexiblity for height chances/wheel combinations.

No. Way too big in diameter. I am running 225/45-15s which are 2 inches smaller in diameter, and they barely clear the fenders and the control arms with 7" +40mm wheels.
Stick with a 205/40 for 16" wheels.
