Default Very sad, after months of work my race team is no more.

I have been working my butt off to put a car together to run with my race team and i just got word that the primary person wants out and we are to vacate the shop because he wants to sell it off. Now i have this track R and no real team to run with. The Honda Challenge is not real big down here an i really wanted to try to build it up with the support of the team but so many of us are going different directions that i really feel like a loner now. I am now torn between selling my car or going it alone. Its been a very depressing weekend.

Damn dude, that sounds really crappy for sure. I think if you really want to track your car and you have the funds....then go ahead and do it. You will feel great if you get to go race.

DON'T SELL THE CAR....

The hard part is over. Its nearly the end of the season and everyone is broke and burnt. The tracks are still miserable hot and racing is as "un-fun" as it gets toward the end of summer. Winter heals many wounds. Your "team" may be disbanding, but you've already got the hard part behind you: you've already built the car. Take a breath. Look at the big picture and think about next season. You are bound to attract more interested guys.

Thanks guys, its just a long road to race all of the tracks around here are so far from me. I do not have a truck, its just a logistical nightmare.

Don't give up! It isn't costing you anything just sitting there.

When you are ready you can HPDE it, race it in NASA HC or the new SCCA ITR class.

Give you five dollars for your car, because that's all that it's worth now that you're not on a team...or you can step up, rekindle the passion that drove you to build it in the first place and perhaps build new bonds with your former teammates through the spirit of the sport. Best of luck to you.

http://www.scca.org/Club/Index...0|057&~=

Go here. Click on "Improved Touring Category". The current IT classed are ITC, ITB, ITA and ITS. The new "ITR"class isn't mentioned here, but it is a go for 2007. The Integra Type R is propposed for this class at 2,525 lbs (w/driver).

You get through the hard part and want to give up now? This is the time you get to enjoy all of the hard work you and your crew did. As said, take the car to a HPDE and have fun!!

While you are bummed out about not having a crew to help you, most of us don't. I sure wish I had someone to help build my car with me in addition to my dog. Take a deep breath, realize what you've accomplished, and know the fun stuff is coming your way. While at events, you'll have plenty of people to help you (other racers).

Take this advice! I was an idiot and I sold my H2 car. Now, I'm just waiting for Parker to get tired of it so I can buy it back

So if you get to buy it back is that going to be the wife's car? Boy I would really hate to see her beat you, but it would be great to watch.

Rene - now I understand more of your IM.

Call me this week. I've been running in ITE. ITR will be a much better class. Hell - if the race car is paid for....let it set if you have to. Then run HPDEs until you are comfy or have more money. DON'T SELL IT unless you really need to and don't think you want to go racing in the future.

peace -

BudMan

Want to buy my truck (1998 V6 Tacoma) and trailer (Brimar 16')? I used it to tow on the East Coast and may be bringing it down to Texas soon ( I live in a 'burb of Dallas and may be selling my H2 ITR this week). I had no problems towing on the hilly East Coast, so you should have no problems with the flat landscape of Texas. I would let it go for a pretty good deal if you are interested.

that's basically what I did.. ran HPDE's and got into instructing to offset track costs until I was ready to go racing, even though the car was basically done..

and yeah, it doesn't cost you a dime when it's parked.. don't sell it - especially with the SCCA class opening up..

Welcome to world of racing: One day you are on top of the world, next day nothing!
Very common in the World Challenge series.
