Aero Kit (body spoilers) and Splash Guards
I searched but didn't find what I needed to know. The Aero Kit or body spoilers for the left and right side. Do they help prevent rust or do they manage just to get more salt and sand rubbing against the body? Living in the Northeast I'm always looking for ways to prevent rust from occuring on the rocker panels. We call it New York Lace around here. Same question goes for the splash guards.
I guess sometimes there are benefits to living down south. I did notice Rhino Liner does rocker panel spraying on trucks now, but I doubt it would look any good on a car.

I waxed the heck out the area that was going to be covered with the splash guards and then I installed the spalsh guards as tight as I could against the body.
The best thing that you can do to prevent rust is keep a good coat of wax on your car, repair any stone chips ASAP, and hose off the underside (fender wells, etc.) often. I do this with all of my cars.......I've been taking my Jeep to VT to go skiing pretty often during the winter. When I get home from a ski weekend, my dark grey Jeep looks white......the road salt must be 1/8th inch thick!!!
I'm so nuts, that I even hose off my car during the winter before I bring it into the garage after a trip through the snow.......I installed a hot/cold water mixing tap in my garage......so a I hose the salt/sand snow from the fender wells before I park it in my semi-heated garage.
After I installed the splash guards on my Si, I walked over to my Accord to see how tight the front splash guards were to the body. The fronts were not to tight so I backed off the screws and re-tightened them. I pulled one off just to see if I had any rust............no rust, just pretty dirty and body where the plastic made contact with the body showed a slight amount of wear (looked like the clear coat was just buffed off). All in all, not bad for a daily driver with 90k miles on it......and I drive all highway speeds......in the left lane pushing slow drivers out of my way
