Default Thinking about this type-r... Is it worth it?

Hey guys, im normally dont post in this part of the fourm, mainly just look and drool over the type r's. Welp im thinking about taking the plunge... But idk is this type-r is worth it or not, its about 500 miles south of me. I currently own a prelude, and am thinking about selling it and getting this type-r but i want all of your opinions first.

Price $8,499

Mileage 47,000
Exterior Color PY
Engine 4 Cylinder Gasoline
Transmission Manual

VIN JH4DC231XYS001499

Thats the basics on it, i was hoping someone with a carfax account could look up the vin for me and see what the hell has been done to the car to make it that cheap. Heres what the add says.

2000 ACURA INTEGRA, type R, yellow, lthr int, 17" rims, type R body, GSR eng, runs great, 47k mi, too much to list

Notice the after market rims (gah why cant people leave the beautiful type r rims alone) and the gsr motor. If i bought it i would do a motor swap back to the stock b18c and get this puppy back to its stock and go from there. So opinons please.

I'm thinking its a gsr with a new paint job and itr stickers slapped all over it... leather interior ? "Type R" body ? Sounds kinda fishy to me. Try to get some pictures

I thought that too... There is the only one pic right now. Im gonna call on it tomarrow and see if i can get them to send me some more pics. The free car fax report does bring it up as a integra type r with the vin listed above, however it says it has 7 records for the car.... Im guessing it has been in an accident or two... maybe even 7, but from the pic it looks clean as hell...

I love my Type-R. It's an amazing car. The car is so well balanced, between power, braking, handling, aesthetics... Everything works perfectly together.

In my opinion, it's one of the best "Out Of The Box" cars out there (In it's respective price range). You can buy a stock ITR, throw it around the track, beat it, bruise, and drive it to work the next day with no problem.

I'd say buying a Type-R is VERY much worth it... If you're the type person that can appreciate what the Type-R is. If you're looking to have a badass go fast in a straight line car... Buy a Civic, or a DSM and dump a few grand into it... If you're looking for a well balanced, EXTREMELY fun car, buy an ITR, you'll love it.

Based on the VIN, it's an ITR but it sounds most likely like a theft recovery due to the "leather" interior and "GS-R" motor.

Not worth it at all. Spend a couple grand more and get a virgin 97-98 ITR.
