Default d15b

yes, i searched

whats everyones opinion on the d15b motor? it would be goin in my 91 hatch (daily) that i also you for autoX. not really looking for a fast 1/4
anyways heres what im hoping to do: get a lightend flywheel and a clutch, intake, header, and a cam & cam gear. looking to put some pep into the motor for autoX but nothing crazy... i see hmotors sells them for 450 which is pretty cheap. heres kinda a dumb question, it says its for 92-95 im assuming it will bolt in to a 88-91? i dont see why it wouldnt, but i could be wrong. ill convert to obd1 (ive had the jumper harness, and s200 sittin around for awhile now). anyways anything i need to look out for? pros n cons?

thanks

it'll be great for a daily and a once and a while autoX car. Do it, thats what im doin. And even in the 1/4 mile, it still does pretty damn good, didnt some guy on here run better times with his d15b then a couple people with their b16's

JDM D15B?
or
USDM D15Bx?

I replaced my USDM D15B2 w/ a JDM D15B (daily)
I is a huge diff

I have a blast w/ my JDM, better HP , better MPG, better scoot

I was and am amazed at the efficiency on the JDM motors

YA But they take to long to get you the motor I waited a month for my motor to tile thay finely sent it to me and took like five time calling them befoure i got someone on the phone but they did send me a ecu with the motor which save me a lil bit of green It is a great motor to go with cheaper and you can get more power for the money.

for most dirt track racing classes you are limited to run only SOHC, so that D15 would give you future considerations if you ever smashed up the body and still watnedto have fun with it!

is there any reason why the d15b and not something else? i have had the USDM d15b2(sucked in power ok with fuel economy) JDM d15b (pretty good with power and like aal said better gas mileage) and the zc sohc (really good power not so good mileage). i guess you would prolly want power over fuel economy for auto-x right? if you want JDM d15b or a zc sohc or dohc, pm me i have a bunch just imported at a good price. i can deffinetly get it to you cheaper and faster because of shipping. i am a lot closer to you.

I swapped in the jdm d15b from Venus-auto.com For 450 (Disitrubutor, Ecu, Longblock) and it was awesome, Better gas mileage, Rocket compared to the d15b2 60whp POS. You can find parts easy unlike the Dohc zc, But Finding d15b spark plugs sux since you can't use d16z6

I'm a firm believer in the D15B. My boy has one in his hatch doing 14.0 at 99.9 with minor bolt ons. but it's built more for top end 150+
