Drag CRX's what size slicks/wheels are you using?
As the title says, Im looking to buy some slicks and wheels just wanted to get an idea of what everyone was running. Please could you also state your HP
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
I HAVE 700 HP CRX I AM RUNNING M&H SLICK 24.50X9X13 ON LENSO I RAN A 10.4@149 I AM CHANGING TO MICKY THOMPSON ON WELDS MAGNUMS I HEARD THEY GRAB BETTER
Im looking for a budget setup basically, not worried about how the wheels look. I know I can use stock 14inch alloys/steelies but am worries about slick sizes. What size/brand slick do people run on their stock 14's?

I have 3 options basically... (ranging from cheapest to most expensive)
Option 1. Go with my 14" stock CRX alloy wheels but maybe pay more later down the line for replacement slicks.
Option 2. Go with some 13 x 6j wheels I have seen cheap online, but the same issue may apply with the slicks as above.
Option 3. Buy some Diamond racing or Lenso 13 x 7 wheels and get the wider range or slicks (quite literally...)
My personal favourite is option 2, are slicks for 13 x 6j wheels easy to come buy?
As I said im really not bothered about fashion more so function. I will not be doing anythign to the rear of the car wheel or tyre wise (other than having either stock wheels with normal road tyres or my 16" alloys with slightly better performance street tyres) I notice some people put the skinny tyres on the back but I dont think im quite in that league yet

I also see alot of stock honda 15inch alloys appearing on ebay, it would not be out of the question to get a set of these as it appears alot of slicks come in a 15" diameter but I could be wrong.
As I said it's not the diameter it's the width. You need a 7" minimum, a lot of the larger slicks must be mounted on a 7" minimum. Look at the pricing Exospeed has on the Lensos, they're not THAT expensive. I got their Lenso/M&H combo.
We are using 24.5x8.5x15 M&H Slicks on 99-00 Si 15" wheels on an 89 Hatch.
You have to run extended wheel studs, wheel spacers, and crank the coilovers up very high to run that wheel/tire combo.

Why go with stock size wheels? They are very limited in width, plus with an 8 or 9" slick you will have to run spacers because of the stock (45mm) offset--the slicks will rub. You can get a 13 x 7 or 13 x 8 Diamond Racing wheel in silver or black, 13 lbs. around $50 each. It makes the most sense. Unless you want to spend a little more for the Lensos but the Diamonds are so cheap its hard to resist. If I hadn't gotten Lensos a few years back (I didn't know about Diamonds then), I would have went with Diamonds.
Do you know of any diamond racing wheel stockists? Im having a hard time finding a place that will ship oversea's to the UK.
The good news is Ive found some slicks in the UK. I was told to go with 8 x 15 or 8 x 13 wheels by a guy from hoosier uk but I have a feeling the 15's would give me grief on the arches.
Cheers

Lets say I had a crx and wanted to run 13x8" rims ( http://www.diamondracingwheels...s.htm ) with M&H 13x8x23 slicks, how much of a backspace would I need???
did you have any arch fitment issues running the 15's on a CRX?
What kind of offset should I be looking at also?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

with the 26" slick and a 15" wheel you will have some clearance issues. We had to cut some of the body to make it fit. We are using a 5.5 back spacing and using a 1/4" spacer.
