Default si head on a dx block?

can i put an si head on a dx block and intake manifold? my head is messed up and i have this si one sitting in my garage

Im pretty sure you have to pick up an si timing belt since your dx one might be a tooth or two off with the si head.

no you don't. The Si and DX head are the same casting basically (different part numbers).

Heresay warning!

I've heard that you have to use a Y7/Y8 cam gear when you put a D16 head on a d15 block do to the deck height differences. Otherwise your cam will be advanced by 4.5 degrees. Again, this is heresay because I don't have any practical experience...just what I've read about it on D-Series.org.
