I'm about to replace my pads and rotors, and am looking for a mildy priced set of rotors capable of handling the abuse of a track day. Pad suggestions are welcome too, want something that wont be too dusty on the street. I've heard Hawk HP pads are pretty awesome. Any suggestions welcome

Just get cheap OEM-style replacement rotors. You're going to use them up, no matter what, so there isn't a lot of point in paying a lot for fancy slotted or cryo rotors, IMHO.
In the beginning stages, you are going to tend to overheat your brakes. Almost everyone does it in the beginning, and no amount of money spent on rotors is going to keep you from overheating them and eventually cracking them.
When this happens, you are better off having only spent $20/each for the OEM-style rotors from Autozone, et al.

hrm...
you could also use brembo blanks.
but i only bought those because they were cheaper than OEM autozone brakes at the time.
buybrakes.com
that was the website i found them on... maybe they're cheap on there for integras and civics too.

Yep, i took a look for you.

$33-39 per rotor depending on if it's front or rear.
Also free shipping over $100 orders.
I got my hawk hps + rotors for a steal off there a while ago.
Oh, also checked autozone for you:
http://www.autozone.com/servle...dPage
$22 per rotor for 2YR limited warranty duralast rotors.
That's an even bigger steal!
Good luck

I just bought new rotors from Autozone. They have like a Good/Better/Best. The Duralast are the middle of the road, BUT they keep them in stock. The Valucraft are the hot ticket, but usually have to order. However they only take 1-2 days, so I don't mind. My front rotors were only $13.99 each and the rears? A scant $7.99 each.
I am running Hawk HP Plus Race pads. They work and are affordable. I spend $109 plus shipping for front and rears.

Damn that's cheap! Are they even made of metal?

not to beat a dead horse, but the cheapest rotors you can find FTW - in short nothing can hold up to the abuse of track days and heavy autocrossing so don't waste your money on fancy (expensive) rotors.
pads are a matter of personal preference, almost every manufacturer has an autox or light track day friendly pad, find the brand you like or price you like and go for it.
Personally, i like hawk on the scooby which sees almost entirely track use and performance friction (they have high performance pads avaliable at autozone) are on the saturn for street/autox use - also held up VERY well at the track, but the saturn is a lot slower than the subaru
all my friends with hondas pimp cobalt, but i tried a set and hated them - my hawks felt better, stopped better, and lasted longer, so YMMV.

good deal, so ill just get some cheap as **** rotors and most likely hawk hp pads. I've got a few buddies with em and they love em. I've also heard from many a Honda-Tech user that theyre one of the best for the money. Now i just need to be ready by the oct 11 track day near me! (wierd, also happens to be the 1year anniversary of my hatchie being in my posession and on the road!)
So rotors really don't matter?
I will just like to have great breaking while daily driving. My stock brakes don't really stop good at all, and it feels as though I have to give a great amount of pedal pressure. Doesn't help that my tires are cheap, but still.
I changed out my rotors/pads about 1-1/2 years ago. I was thinking of going with a set of brembo blanks, and hawk hps pads, only for the front though, no use on wasting money in the back. How do you think those will feel? Do I even need to get rotors or just pads will do? I'm looking for great stopping.
Also, this is another thread, but is it possible to make the clutch engage lower? Meaning the clutch pedal. This is a 97 LS with hydraulic tranny. I just got an Exedy Stage 2, nothing serious, but I want the clutch to bite without letting off the pedal too much. Still picks up high, like my stock clutch.
/This is for a 97 Integra ~275whp

Definitely do a flush and use good fluids. ATE super blues, Motul 5.1 just to name a few. Pads wise I loved my PBS axxis ultimate. Modulation was great, fade resistance is good as well. Only downside is they dust quite a bit.

Yeah i'll be completely flushing the fluid once i pick up some lines. Thanks for the recomendation on the fluids. And D-t, You dont have drums in the back, do you? Honestly i'm not sure about the ls integra. But if you do, clean and adjust the drums a bit tighter, so that when you spin the drum(wheel off) it's got some friction and doesnt spin freely for too long. That helped my pedal feel real nice. If you've got discs, completely disregard that. hehe.
All Integras have disc brakes...
And bleeding the fluid regularly (before and after track days at a minimum) is the key to keeping a good working braking system. It would be good to bleed the fronts after every ~20 minute session if you can as well, especially if you are very hard on the brakes or the pedal starts feeling mushy.
Pads are what slow down the wheels, the rotors allow the pads to do their thing and wick heat away to keep the pads from overheating. Getting pads with good bite and higher friction levels will slow down the wheels quicker and with more force. If you have good tires that translates to shorter and more intense stops. Not good enough tires for the pads will result in locked brakes and a longer stopping distance. Braking distance and intensity is all in the pads and tires...

Thanks that's exactly what I wanted to know. Good tires + pads = shorter and more intense stoppage. I guess I might just go ahead and get some brembo blanks, and some hawk hps pads. Do you think the blanks will overheat?
My tires are shitty too, so that comes in. My brakes lock easy I presume, and I do have ABS. Also do a flush when the time comes.

If anything I'll just get the pads and stick with my current stock rotors. They still do seem to be in fine conditon. I just want something that can stop......REAL HARD. And my current stock setup does not do that at all. Takes time to stop, and I have to give it a good amount of pedal pressure.

I concur about the Autozone specials, the metal is cheap and poorly made my friend went through two sets in 3 months they cracked. Not fun when cracked on the road or track. Got the Brembo blanks for $25 a piece so far 2 years and then some.

Yes. Just typically asking, how many track days/auto-x events, etc.
I will not be doing much of those, once in a while, mostly I just want something that will be awesome out on the street, so just trying to get a figure of how fast you go through a set of these pads.
There about ~65 bucks a set for the front right? Where is the place with the best price?
