Default 1990 CRX DX Engine Swap - Please help

Hi, I have a 1990 CRX with the 1.5l Dual Point DX motor, manual trans. The car is in very good condition aside from the typical fender rust. I am not pleased with the performance of the stock engine even after a CAI and Catback. It isnt bad, and added pep for interstate driving but I am looking for more.

My question is simple yet complex. How hard would it be to swap my stock 1.5l DX DPFI engine for a DOHC engine and turbo. I am thinking a b18 or a ZC. I am not an expert of the engines in honda, and am looking to pay someone to do the swap for me. Anyone know of a good place near Cincinnati Ohio that can perform the swap, if not maybe point me in the right direction for a how-to. I know a little bit, but engine swaps are not something I have ever done.

On a side note if anyone knows wether or not they sell the rear fender skin to replace/repair the rusted rear fenders please hook me up with the info/links.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Firstly, Cincinnati has quite a few shops that can do what you're looking for. I have my own opinions on each, but I'm just going to list them all. People have had good and bad experiences with each, and I would just recommend checking each out and making your own decision.

Total Performance Racing - TPRCincy.com
Zerolift Autolab - Zerolift.com
Raceline Tuning - Racelinetuning.com
Sleeper Auto (No Website)

Fender skins I've heard exist, but never found them myself. I've found them for hatches, but from my understanding hatches rear fender wheel is shaped a little differently.

As far as your swap, a turbo DOHC motor like you're talking about is going to be a HUGE jump in power. Just be ready to take the plunge with regards to your wallet. All that work professionally done is quite pricey.

Best site for future Cincinnati questions: Cincinnatistreetracing.com

Good people there for the most part, and it's great for finding parts you need locally.

Thanks bro, look forward to getting this project started. Hope to see you soon, let me know if there is a local crx club that I can meet and get pointers from.

What do local shops charge to do a swap Ryan?? just labor.... I'm curious. My guess would be close to a grand....Wiring is definitely the most intensive part of the whole process.

If you have an engine hoist, and some time to install or troubleshoot if necessary, then try it yourself! H-T is here to walk you through any problems. more satisfying too

Going rate is usually anywhere from 600-1000$ in labor. 600$ would be your basic D swap, upwards to 1000$ for some of the more work intensive B swaps.
