Default ZC SOHC with some power!

Alright, so I import these engines in all the time and finally one day my beater CRX dx engine blows. So i put in one of these SOHC ZCs i have lying around and DANG that thing has a crapload of power! are these things like majorly underated. i thought they had like 130-ish HP. I am fricking impressed. i had a D15b2 with d16a6 head before and this thing rocks the pants of it.

Well, unless it's an engine dyno you can't tell.

I got one. Love it. You def. need to be MPFI though, its what the motor was made for!

your not getting 130 hp with dpfi, do yourself a favor and convert to multipoint.

I just put a sohc zc in my 88 hatch and its way faster than I thought it would be. I'm impressed with it.

I gotcha, When you get the chance to do it youll find that multipoint just sounds better, its faster, and can get the same gas mileage if driven the same.

my friend's gtech said it had 143 hp and 136 tq....i know this cant be right? i ran it in my Supra and his Corolla and they were right at specs for stock. I have a funny feeling mine doesnt have all stock internals. the car i got it out of in Japan had a crazy aftermarket parts installed (ignition, grounding out the rear, cusco suspension) and Mugen everything as far as body and wheels go. i saw the pics of the car it was in. My business partner lives in Japan and said it was a nice car and he hated to cut it up to send it here. It actually ticks me off when he says they crush 40 or so CR-X/Civic in Japan a month at the Junkyard ho goes to more often, and that is just one yard.

I thought the DOHC made 130hp and the SOHC more closer to what the A6 has.

Sorry The Rovers had DOHC ZC. Probably the best motor that was ever put into them

I run the SOHC ZC in my roadrace car and it is very different with that cam. To really wake it up use the 86-89 integra dohc ecu PG7 (MPFI). Very noticeable difference in torque.

The sohc makes about 120 to the fly, but when compared to a d15 which is like 68 to the fly its a huge difference.
