Because he asked. Why do people even bother to reply when they have nothing to contribute?

For the OP, if you need any kind of stats for cars such as weight, hp, tq, gas mileage etc. use the following:

all MPG statistics you find on imported cars seem to be underrated considerably. and no dennisraymondhall, were not a GM commerical. Highway MPG isn't very important for average MPG when you factor that 99.999999999999999999% of the time you start you're car you're at 0 or rolling under 5 MPH. However, from having a 90 civic hatch SI, I can safetly tell you through a combination of idling, hard/soft acceleration, driving into cross/head/rear wind, shifting gears, driving in 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th gear, driving in reverse, driving at constant speeds of 30-45 MPH, driving at constant speeds of 70-80 MPH, driving up hills, driving down hills, going around corners, driving behind vehicles, obeying stop signs/traffic lights, coasting, and maybe a few others I missed. I average 32-33 MPG. So with a little less weight you could safely consider 33 MPG as average.

Gas mileage is highly variable, I'll say betwixt 30-50 is likely with the top of the bell curve being around 35.

well he didnt say average he said "How much gas mileage does a 1990 CRX SI get per gallon?". i was only telling him the MPG for highway because that is all i KNOW for sure. and baboracus, you didnt even really answer his question at all. he is asking about a CRX and you have a hatch. there is a considerable weight difference and a considerable MPG difference. and like SVOboy said, it is variable. ony my dx i used ot get right at 53 on the highway going like 60mph. my si only like 36 pretty regularly. thats all i was saying, nothing more, nothing less.

ah don't worry about it dennis, I just think it's stupid how all the general motors commericals brag about HIGHWAY MILES PER GALLON! They seem to think that cars are typically started behind a truck pulling them at 60 MPH too. I don't get how dumb they think people are. Then again, im still not over GM trying to destroy mass transit.

LoL why do you ask? Because instead of getting a CRX i got a 89 Accord LX-i in excellent condition owned by a granny who couldn't take the kids to school this morning because, she couldn't seem to find the use for tampons anymore. Better mpg on the accord thoigh for a daily driver! I'll save all my gas wasting toward my 01 gsr peep that!
