Default A lot of play on steering rod Help!!

Hello, I bought an steerhouse.. thing, I don't know the name in English but eh, i'v got a pic.

But I installed it, and now I have even more play on the rod then before, is this because the car is still not on the ground?

I can pick up this steering rod

and move around a little, wtf did I do wrong ?

Are you having problems with your manners as well?

That piece is called a steering rack bushing..

The link that I gave you covers the bushing's replacement
and adjustment of the steering rack.
Did you read all the way through it?

This is fairly simple.
Either you inserted the bushing incorrectly, you have the wrong one, or something's loose.

First remove the bushing again, and compare it to your old one. Is it thinner?
Then inspect the steering rack for damage or play. You shouldn't be able to flop things about. Even without the rack bushing. Altho some play is to be inspected.

Re-insert the bushing, and make -sure- everything is snug. It should take some effort to put it in and snag. If it just slides in without resistance, you know where the play is coming from.

Oke I inspected the new bushing, and old.

There are many differences between them, I can hit myself for not checking this earlier, but that has something to do with my physical condition right now..

ehhm, seti you say that I shouldn't have this amount of play even withouth the bushing inserted...

The play on the movie, is that weird? or is that a common situation when you have NO bushing inserted..

Because I noticed that it doesn't matter if I inserted the new bushing or not, the amount of play remains the same..

This is bad?

So I put in the old wared bushing.. play is gone.. so I'm heading to the Honda dealer right now..

yeah Puk, you probably installed the wrong steering rack bushing. I have a spare one laying around here somewhere, the correct one for me (VT), don't know if it'll fit your car...
