I'm just curious. How many of you guys have painted cars but didn't paint the engine bay? I have a few dents in my car and i figured if i was going to paint it anyways i might as well paint it the color i want. But then again i don't want to go through all the trouble of tearing out my engine to paint the bay yet, because i was planning on swapping but figured the exterior needed more attention and speed always gets me into too much trouble. Post some pics for example too. Thanks in advance guys.
just wondering, why would it matter who got there engine bay painted or not?
if your worried about speed, then dont paint the bay...
not trying to be a dick or anything, but you pretty much answered your own question
if you said you only got a few dents, then just repaint it the same color?

My car doesnt have a painted bay, but thats how I bought it, if I was to paint my car, I'd get it ALL painted, strip it down to the shell and get everything painted including the inside as well as the trunk, jambs, and engine bay takes more work but looks a hell of a lot better in the end , if your gunna do something do it right, but thats just my 2 cents.
depends on what color your ride is stock, if its black, it doesnt matter. me personally i love black engine bays. yet some like them painted. if your goin to be a hardparker i think its listed in the rules to have a paint matched shaved bay tucked :-p

My car is arcadia green.
*not my car, just for reference*
Basically this color. Its just ive had these dents and stuff for a long time now. And a huge dent in my passenger side door because some ****** doesn't know how to pull out of a driveway. And since i can't drive the car anymore i figured i might as well fix everything and paint the car. Speed isn't/wasn't my first concern, its just i would like a little more power for the hills and all, i wasn't looking to pull 12's
. The paint on the car is in no way horrible, its actually perfect considering its over 16 years old. Just a few hard waterspots that bug the hell out of me, and yes i've tried a clay bar. Anyways i was looking to paint the car a khaki tone brown. Who knows, i change my mind quite often. And also the little dents on the car have stopped TONS of people from buying my car, from when i was going to sell it anyways. People just assume that a few dents means a big accident...

I was actually thinking of painting it this color:
Saw it way way back then and i've just been fascinated with how simple it makes a car look. I just think metallic paints complicate a car too much, and i need something simpler. Its not like i'm never going to paint the bay, its just i'd rather do it when i swap in a engine rather then take the F22 out and put it back in.

just debating, i got a horrible quote for a swap from a local shop. 5 grand for a H22 swap! haha i thought that was CRAZY! considering that i can prep the car myself because a local friend has a sand blaster, and the paint job alone would costs me a little over 600 dollars...but any more pics guys?
