ok i just bought a 91 sedan with the 1.5 d15 dual point throttle body injection crap on it with 230,000 miles on it for $500...any way i've decided to do a b20 swap and turbo that, and im wondering what am i getting myself into? I know motor mounts and a tranny, i think its a trans out of teg ls, and i need sleeves for the motor. but what site should i go to to get this stuff. who has done this and how bad is it to do, and how bad will the car be when im done?
not so sound like a jac... ah forget it. If you don't have the resources identified to be able to make this swap possible or the tools for it then don't bother thinking about it or asking about it. Just start by identifying individual problems before they happen then look up the solution. For example if you just get an entire engine/wiring set up from a CRV or whatever then you'll need to know how to be able to wire the head/tail lights brake lights and those other types of things. The most important things are axles and transmission. If you know what will work for that then you can either make or find custom mounts and individually wire everything else through it's own fuses and toggle switches. Aside from that you have to include about the 20 little things too.

i have the tools and all that stuff to do it with thats not the problem. i want to know if anyone has done this in an ef civic. i would like opinions from people that know what they are talking about none of the 16 year old fast and furious kids whose parents bought them a civic to bribe them to get better grades in high school.

Yes it has been done in an ef before and in a sedan. Check out my sig for a little help and also search around in the archives, I'm sure there is a lot of good info. Just out of curiosity why a B20? Here's a little list of some stuff you'll have to do:
Mounts
Linkage
Axles
Tranny
DPFI to MPFI
Custom exhaust
not sure about hubs
make sure it's not on stock front suspension (I know it can be done but the B20 is a beast) I'm sure I've forgotten something but that will give you a start.
for another sedan owner!

that was actually quite entertaining LOL
OP: you can use your stock front hubs/suspension if you want to. i just swapped an LS into my 4dr and opted to go with DA integra brakes because quite frankly it's not as light and nimble as most other EF's.....
you'd better be ready to shell out serious cheddar to build a sleeved block. i also have boost in mind, but i just went with a regular LS block, skipped the sleeves, and used forged internals. it should still withstand 3-400whp before a sleeve cracks, and that's plenty of power for me

I don't know what I'm talking about? well that depends on what information you need i guess but a CRV has a B20 so it seemed like an excellent donor vehicle. i've done plenty of swaps before and believe me, although it sounds easier to just buy an engine and put it in... hell it probably is easier actually. ah sorry about that

what other motors do u guys think i should go with? i like the b20 because theres no replacement for displacement and i know a couple people around here that have swawped them into teg's and loved them...i guess what im trying to say is I know its going to be boosted, thats about it. i have the time and tools to do an engine swap, so what do u guys recomend???
Well your expectations are your limitations......If you want to tackle a B20 swap than by all means go for it. You should actually talk to owners in person i.e. races, carshows....But more power to you for attempting it. Your best choice is resources what I mean by that is know what you want to do, how your gonna do it, set a budget, research research research, AND dont cut any corners. Do it right and learn from your mistakes.
i have a B20vtec in my sedan and i (L) it....
it isnt that hard of a swap if you are just running a b20...but I recommend having help and double checking everything and haveing all the parts ready and tools before you start the job....basically same advice for every swap.....good luck!!!!
ps. doesnt sound like you are ready for this yet...do some searching in Tech forums and some more diggign here...ull find somethin!!
