car is misfiring at high revs
heya guys
i got problem with the engine misfiring at high rev, currently its boosting about 15psi, im still running stock ignition apart from the MSD leads
my tuner suggested that i go with MSD fancy ***** but i have seen over and over again in this site that many people making 500+whp on stock ignition
im running autronic PNP board, dizzy is about 85k mile old

stick with stock. Did you tuner try re gapping the plugs? Whats your setup? Did he see if your plugs are too cold? Fouling out? Too hot? too much gap? what kinda gas are you running?
the car had heat range 7 before but he decided to use heat range 8 platinum just to be safe, i am unsure whether he actually re-gap the plugs or not
im running pump gas at the moment
is it worth it to change the dizzy cap, rotor and ignitor ???

how much boost are you running when this happens?
Depending on how much boost and weither im using 116 or 93 or not. I gap my plugs between .030 and .020 on OEM ignition.
also check you grounds like already stated
Do you know how to read your plugs and what to look for?

Mine sputters sometimes around 6.5-8k right now, but it is on a basemap. I was told it was probably getting too much fuel up top. Either way i'm pretty sure my issue will be fixed with a proper tune.
I'm gonna say detonation. To much boost for 93 octane. Needs race gas. A buddy here in utah just put up 740hp on a dynojet on totally STOCK ignition!!! NKG 9's gapped to 19. Hotter plug (NGK 9's), 112 octane, 3 bar if you don't already have one. Good Tune, then turn the boost up.
ignition pick up problem of some sort most likely.
check into a T1 cam trigger set up if it will work with your ems, im not familiar with autronic at all other than hearing of people having missfire issues with it.
its not detonation from too much boost on pump gas, i ran 25psi on pump gas on my car for over a year. and its not the stock igntion unless there is a fualty part.
my money's on ignition pick up/signal problem of some sort.

make sure your running 93 octane and definitly recheck the gap on your plugs, with trhat kind of set up they should be closed a lot comepared to the gap they come with from the shop, should be around .20
i had a look at the cap and rotor today, they looked pretty sad
ordered new cap, rotor and coil from honda today and they will be here tomorrow
wish me luck

having same problem. I'd had them gapped to 30 at first = misfire, then .25= misfire, and now 20 = slight misfire.. My question is whats consequences are there from running a small gap?
how much less?
i'm 540-+
with a .018 gap.
unless you are running a magneto, you will have to gap the plugs down. thats just it. the more boost and cylinder pressure, the higher chance to blow out the spark. when you are making power like that there is a trade off.
