REVERSE LIGHTS have never turned on. HELP!!!
Ever since I got my second used DX motor I have never had Reverse lights....I already checked the bulbs and fuses and I even checked the ones under the hood. I checked for votalges at the bulb connectors with the car in reverse and ignition on the on position and still no voltage...this probably has something to do with my short somewhere in the wiring I have from my EACV to the fuse 14.
I guess I can't do too much about this but thanks for the help you guys...I hope I can find the open or short.

yup in the front most part of the pass side of the tranny look strait down on the tranny to look and you should see 2 wires
those r them

While on the topic... where are those 2 reverse light wires on the trans supposed to go? I got my car with a B16A swap and the wires are just cut off the Y1...
Just popped the hood to check it out, there's two wires coming from the sensor (green & yellow) and they come out from the main harness with the temp. sending unit and radiator fans' wiring. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks to your guys' help I found the 2 wires you were talking about.....I also read that there needed to be continuity to test the switch properly when the car was in Reverse across the yellow and green wires and they do so the switch is ok but I am still not getting my lights to turn on when I reverse. Does anyone have any ideas about what else could be causing this? I have already checked my fuses and made sure that the switch was all the way in the tranny as well as check for continuity across the yellow and green wires when in reverse.
Does anyone know what fuses are related to the reverse lights? I rewired my cut reverse switch wires and still dont have any lights... I checked the switch for continuity and it checks out while in reverse. I don't know where to start from here...

Are you saying the reverse light sockets should have positive power and the reverse switch gives it ground? My bulbs are new and my sockets dont look corroded at all. Certainly much less corroded than my old tail lights that still worked fine (allthough they would've worked better as fish bowls and their leaks filled my trunk with water
). Anyway any thoughts from here?
Thanks,

sounds like your having the same problem as I am...I think I have a short or an open somewhere else in my car. I still don't have any reverse lights and my Switch checks out while in reverse as well. I have already replaced my bulb sockets too. I am pretty much stuck. I even checked for voltage with the car in reverse and nothing.
Yup, it is an interesting situation... I do alot of wiring but too much distance of wire seperates the result from the cause.... If I get around to tracing the whole system out and get it fixed I'll let you know, but I don't imagine I'll be that motivated about it anytime soon

Looking at the schematic,
It gets power from fuse #14 and the yellow wire
should be positive 12VDC in..
Once the switch is engaged, the green/black wire is energized
all the way to one side of the socket..
The other side of the socket should be ground..
PS,If the car runs,no need to check fuse #14..
It powers the main relay and without it,It won't run..

My car runs better than it ever has...I just get frustrated looking at that dang Check Engine light when I know it's something in the wiring. Tracing it out really overwhelms me and I can't find the energy to do it since I feel I lack the expertise to find something like that. I am afraid I may not find it and have my car in pieces by the time I am done.
