Hey I just got a VIS carbon fiber trunk last week and I want to put my spoiler on it. It's a 95 Civic Coupe. Have any of you installed a spoiler on a carbon trunk and did you have any problems? Some of the shops around here acted scared and wouldn't install it. Thanks in advance.

u would just need a dremel and mask up the area with masking tape. like a hood. drill the holes and install. =P

 

Depending on the size a spoiler, bracing the trunk might be a good idea as larger wings such as GT wings often crack/warp the carbon fiber trunk it is mounted on.

 

why? is the wing colormatched to the car? i wouldnt do it.

 

Yeah the wing matches the car. It is my stock one that I had on the car until I got the carbon trunk.

Better than a GT wing. To each his own for likes. I'm not asking for opinions on how it will look. One of the shops I went to said the force on the spoiler could crack the trunk, so I want to know if anybody has experienced this.

 

I odnt knwo for sure, but that sounds right, the force could mess up the trunk unless like mentioned above, reinforcing it...personally i wouldnt do it, but to each is their own, and its your car, if you like it go for it

 

dont doit its a trick! a hole drilled cannot be undrilled. personally if i were going to put something on my car such as a style up spoiler because it color matched... i wouldnt spend good cheeze on a NON color matched trunk. id keepmy stocker. big risk putting a wing on a cf trunk. it could chip crack or warp, DANGER! hahaha get a CF EX wing too.
