can u tell me the diffrence betwen a auto and 5speed...cause i think i got one 5 speed but its 98-99

the diff is on the back if there should be two holes rite by the throttle body where the iac mounts. if there is a iac there than its manual if there is nothing there and it looks like its been plugged than its a auto. there is also a diff between 96-98 and 99-00 y8 im's as well, but if yours in manual i dont care what year ill take it.
