"Skunk2 Fit R" on Street Tuner Challenge! Build Pics
Skunk2 invades your television! Earlier this year Skunk2 was challenged by Honda to take a Honda Fit and modify it to compete on Speed Channel's Street Tuner Challenge. We accepted and a monster was born to take on a Mustang and GTI. Watch our video of the build and see the program schedule for Speed Channel below. Power / torque output before and after?
Widen the front and not the rear.
Engine management used to tune?
What are those harnesses mounted to? Is there rollover protection?

What exactly do you mean by "better balance" ?
That does nothing for weight distribution. Unless it's wind tunnel tested then I doubt there is any proven difference; good or bad.
But, if there is something out there to explain it, I would be interested in reading it.

You've clearly never driven on a track before, or you would understand the concepts that are being explained to you. That being the case, why are you making an *** out of yourself by second guessing those that have experience on the track and know what they're doing?

FWIW, the front end of FWD cars is most often widened strictly to stuff more rubber under the fenders. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the only reason cars should ever be widened IMHO.
Being a S2000 owner, I would think you would already be familiar with a lack of space for rubber under the fenders. The fenders need some work to fit wide tyres all the way around.

My thought was incomplete. I just hate when I see a car with a purpose ruined by some useless widebody kit.

You've already been jumped on, I'm merely clarifying my point.
I was referring to handling balance. Simplest way to get a car to stop understeering (especially an FF, where they are prone to do this) is to put wider rubber up front. Do this along with nicely tuned shocks/springs/sways and you have a car that is well-balanced.
No issue w/ balance in an S2K--they're pretty much perfect from the factory. If you wanted it to oversteer more at the limit, wider front rubber would help that happen.
The tire combo I reffered to earlier in the thread was/is commonly seen on DC2's and EK's in Japan. They don't really think like that here.
