Default 60 amp fuse vs. 80 amp fuse...??

I have the Streetwires amp wiring kit going to my Alpine MRD-M501 amp. It came with an 80 amp inline fuse. I needed to replace the fuse but nobody near me carries 80 amp fuses so I had to mailorder a couple. In the meantime I managed to find a couple 60 amp fuses. If I put the 60 amp fuse in, will it cause problems?

prob not, all it means it that your wires will have a 25% lower maximum power flow. Unless you running higher then lets say 1000w or so, you should be fine. worst case scenario you blow the fuse.

Amp only needs 40A, so you should be just fine. 94

Sounds like you should just run a 40a fuse anyway.

just dont go above 80 if it blows again. the inline fuse is supposed to protect the wire, not the amp. the amp has its own fuses. the reason y it came with an 80 amp fuse is that 80 is the max current flow that is safe to run through that wire so anything above 80, it will blow.

Good to hear everything is working out tho
