ive never heard of it but it looks like a pretty cool/rare car to have has anyone else heard of it/own one?

I like those a LOT. The 2g CRX's don't look good as convertibles, but the 1G looks like a natural convertible. Pretty cool IMO.

I like it, but the torsional rigiditiy probably went to ****. Much better than a front end conversion IMO

Edit: these things were production? I never knew that...

Not sure that they were produced by Honda, but I swear that in the past I've read about dealerships and other companies taking a CRX from the factory and turning them into convertibles, then reselling them. Kind of how Saleen used to take Focii and install nawz and a body kit and resell them.

The company is called Straman and they make vert versions of cars. They made a few versions of the 90-96 300zx twin turbo's before Nissan started making them

that's actually pretty damn hot on a 1g. i've seen pictures of the 2nd gen crx convertable and it really sucks bad, but that looks good on the 1g.

yea so..was this an OEM version of the car or...a dealer modification by a 3rd party contracted by the dealer itself...OR a 3rd party contracted by Honda and sold as a normal honda?

poor crx... It seems 1998 was a scarey year for the honda crx, just think of all the perfect rust free shells that got fucked up doing **** like that or supra tails ect.,,

I liked the silver one. That orange one looks like Rice went to town.

I think it suites the 1g. Considering it wasnt exactly a fantastic looking car to start with. They took something olds-kool and made it even cooler.

As somone else said tho, torsional rigidity... lol would corner like a wet sponge with enough flex to take on Claudia Schiffer.

that first gen looks good. Like it was made that way from the factory. It even has a trunk lid. That orange one is discusting.
