Default MINI-Me

how can i tell if my motor is a mini-me? its a d15b7 block for sure. but i have no idea to tell what kind of head it is! so any help is appreciated

look for a solenoid on the back left of the head. there should be a green thing coming off it also.

if its a mini me you will see the VTEC silenoid on the left side by the dizzy...it is green and obvious

vtec= spark plugs are on teh front of the cover
non vtec its on the rear.

also does you valve cover say HONDA in big letters and thats it? If so it may be a y8 head. or if it sayd vtec its obviously a z6 head. any of those would tell you that you got vtec son. other than that rev her up to 4400 rpm to see if you can hear it kick in

not true! d16y7 has wires on front of valve cover and ZC sohc obd1 has spark plug wires on front too! both are not vtec....teh silenoid is the dead giveaway

ya it says HONDA. and i havent noticed a green thing and i think the plugs are on the front i believe. the motor isnt at my place. so id hafta check on that

if it only sayd honda, its a y8 (vtec) and if it says vtec it also is. heres the solenoid

so i checked its a y8 head. its got the solenoid! so i have a d15b7/d16y8 mini me on my hands
