How bad is the ticking? If it just a slight tick, then there is nothing to worr about. Generally all Honda motors do that that I have seen.

did you have enough oil in there from the start? thats how my dad screwed his engine over barely had a quart in there dumbass engine was knocking bad and cut off on him and fucked up internally but im sure urs isnt the same

Well, for a start, i dont think you really should have driven 1400 miles like that, knowing that it was in that state. Other than that pearl of wisdom, i'd go to your Honda dealer and get them to have a peek

That is normal, I am sure it did it before. Changing the oil would do nothing to cause this. Unless it is a SERIOUS tick I would not worry about it. If it is a serious tick, it may be a problem with the valves, such as valve lash etc. Trust me you would know by the sound though, it would be really apparent
