I hear people " posts" talking about Honda's and how they spun rod bearings all the time, Question? Why does this seem to be such a big problem, what cause the bearing falure? Symtoms? ex.
Just thought i would ask a stupid question to find out H-T's response.....Thanks

on a stock motor (never been opened) I would say lack of oil
on a build motor, probably incorrect bearing measurements

when you spin a bearing it is because of lack of oil between the bearing and the crank.....happens when you over rev, and the oil gets forced out of the area between the bearing and the crank....bearing heats up against the crank, causes to much friction, and then they spin in the journal......
someone correct me if i am wrong.....

No, your correct sorta. The bearing spins always on the crank but it can cause issues if there is no oil in the crank side of the bearing. The spun bearing occurs when the bearing spins in the rod side, which also causes scoring on the crank journal.
Ryan is also correct in the stock vs built motor too. This is why whenever you build a motor again, always always always check your clearences.

This is debatable at best, but look at it this way, the engine is internally balanced so IMO I think an external balancer say CTR N1 will have no affect on the engine.

uhm should the bearing spin/rotate?? when you install a new rod bearing does each half have a little tap that shoul slip in a groove. as you can see on the top left part of the rod on the picture. or have i misunderstod
