My g/f has a 96 Civic which needs an alternator. I'm at work here, so I can't just look at it. What I'm wondering is how much work is involved in replacing the alternator. Do you have to get to it from the bottom? Is there lots of room for it to get in and out or do I have to remove other items? Are the bolts easy to get to? I've replaced alternators before, and am up to the task, provided it's not too ridiculous.

She was at a shop this morning and they wanted an hour and a half labour as their 'standard alternator' rate, which I thought was a little ridiculous!
