No camera tricks there - I believe I might have taken that picture of the car seen above myself with a Sony Mavica Digital camera.
That car is just exceptionally clean, that's all.

When I got my JDM rear light it got some little scratch, then I used a small amount of light polishing compound to take some off the scratched and then finished off with Mothers polishing wax...

i sprayed my taillights with red glass paint to make them all red and they turned out pretty glossy and "shiney" iguess you could say!

try some brasso. it even says on the package for polishing plastic watch crystals.. i tried it on my tails and corners.. shiny and bright.
