Default speaker install

okay, i got a set of 6.5" infinity speakers for in the door. i cant get them mounted because no holes line up. they have a 4 hole design and i honestly have no idea where they should screw into. nothing fits. anyone mounted speakers lately and have pics handy or any suggestions. I have been dieing without music and cant take it much longer.

p.s. it never had a stereo before, came from the factory without one.

When I daily drove my EF8 I had Kicker 6.5" speakers in the front doors. I had the exact same problem with the holes not aligning properly. I ended up making an adapter ring out of 18mm MDF to screw into the factory mounting location and then I could mount my speakers inside the MDF ring and drill new holes. Unfortunately I do not have any photos.

Good Luck

ya you're going to have to make an adapter, or if you got these new they might have come w/ a plastic ring w/ a bunch of holes..

The reason you're not getting them to line up is that our cars take 6 in speakers...... at least my '90 Si does. Never had a problem. Just my $.02

Edit: OK, I eat my words, I have 6 1/2" as well, but I still never had problems w/ them.

I bought 6 1/2 kendwood speakers from Best Buy for $79.00 a set and they were direct screw in speakers < 3 holes for honda> they also have a funny lip so it moves the speaker out alittle so they fit in the speaker housing correctly. I have them in my doors and in the cargo cover speaker mounts in the back
