so i just removed my stock cat today and put a test pipe, it feels much much better than before, but just a few hours ago, it would idle very low, till the point that my lights get dim...is this expected after the test pipe?...the rpm would drop and go up for a few seconds and would drop again...
i took this picture of the rpm from my phone just about 2 min ago

check the code, if your car is obd2 then it should be for the secondary o2 if so then it will not affect the performance of the car

hmmm ok cool, yeah its obd2, there are 2 sensors, for some reason the guy in the muffler shop put those on, both of them, but said that it will not effect the performance, hope he's not lying

The line is 500 rpm. The idle should be at 850 +/- 50 rpm at normal operating temperature.

on the top next to the tps, there may be a plastic cover on it that you have to remove with a razor blade, knife, screwdriver or whatever will work
for the CEL you need to get o2 bung sensor or some kind of spacers. my friends CEL went on and we went and bought spark plug spacer which can be picked up at autozone and drilled the hole bigger so the o2 sensor can go have a perfect fit and used it as a o2 bung for the o2 sensor after the cat.
hope i didnt confuse you.......if so ill show you pictures of what it looks like. LMK!

hey if you take that cover off of the idel adjusment put some monkey snot over it to keep it in place. I had a couple vibrate out and had to make a trip to the dealer
summit automotive also sells simulators that you plug into the secondary 02 sensor plug that will eliminate the CEL
my friend put his cat back on after having a test pipe from a few months and it took about a day and a few drive cycles to clear the cel light on his dash

right
but the major disadvantage of driving around with your cel on is that another problem may arise that would set off the cel and you would have no clue because it is always on for the secondary o2 and you will be driving around oblivious to that fact that something else is wrong

first clear the ecu, disconnect the battery then turn it on, let it run for 5-8 minutes let it reconfigure and then if its still low, adjust the idle,
if the check engine light is on your going to need one those stimulators for the o2 sensor
