i own a 88 prelude si thats an automatic..my gears are shifting abnormaly..i want to replace the ecu..which ECU are compatible? thanks

 

First off, if the gears aren't shifting too well, I'd have the tranny fluid replaced, we had that done to our 91 civic a few years back, when it was having shifting problems, and it's been fine ever since.

i hate to tell ya but a tranny that old, is probably more of a mechanical issue that a computer issue- change the fluid, put sum lucas atf treatment in to it works wonders- ecu would cause very odd or lack of tranny operation completely

 

If it's not mechanical, it could be your TCU (transmission control unit) and I have one I could sell you for $20 from a '93 OBD1 H23A1.

 

Whats so hard about understanding I dont need your advice or what you thinks... I just wanted to know which ecu is compatible.. as for fast_honda, you da man...TCU is what i'm lookin into...thanks niqqa
