hey all, I've got an aem big brake kit on my teg, I've always run 17" wheels for fear that a 16 will not clear the brakes. Long story short there may be 16s on the car soon, anyone know if they will fit?

p.s.i know the aem big brakes are useless yadda yadda.

 

I'm pretty sure that an AEM kit with 12" rotors requires a 17" wheel to clear.

 

Well I'm selling the car and I wana keep my wheels and the other guy wants to put his wheels on it, NOW turns out there actually 15s. I guess I'm gona have to find a 15" wheel of some sort and see if it will fit. I'm doubting it though.

 

you will need a 17 inch wheel with the right offset or you will need a spacer to make it work

 

Well, I bought a 95 Civic Coupe that had the AEM big breaks in the front and also had 16 inch Volk TE37s on it and it didn't rub or anything. I know that I can put anything smaller then a 16 inch rim on there cause I took the Volks of and was going to put my 15 inch Si rims on but it was a no go.

 

Many 16's will fit, many do not.

It all depends on the particular brand/style. I bought brand new 16" Kappa's for my EG with the AEM front kit and it did not work, but I put on my 16" Rays Gramlights and it fit no problem.

As for 15's I have not heard of any rims that fit, but there might be exceptions.

i would think it will depend on the hub size and spoke design of the wheel and of course diameter

 

I have 16" slipstreams with my aem big brake

 

I was running the Powerslot kit which is the same now as the AEM is and I couldn't fit a 16. I also heard you could file down your caliper if it isn't too much of a difference. Just my .02

i know the aem big brakes are usesless....someone buy my big brake brembos off my 4x100 teg cuz i'm going through the same problem....want smaller rims but can fit it....i paid top dollars for these things....want to see how much i can get these thing for and anyone intrested...they are mint!!!
