recently baught new motor from Hmotors jdm B18B and swapped motors and put on my old turbo setup and only motor thing i really switched was thermostat because my old one had a mugen thermostat in it. now swap is complete. tuned, hit 212.whp at 6 pounds and now my motor takes a lil longer to warm up then my old one did, wondering why is it ? does mugen thermostat do this make ur temp take longer to warm up? only reason i ask this is b/c im not 100% sure my mechanic who helped me swap motors really switched the thermostats or if he just left it as is.. i was not there when he was doing that process but evertying else i was.. how would i tell if i really have it w/o opening it . and is it normal for my motor to take longer to warm up then my old one ( fully built b20 block )

If it doesn't overheat, I don't see why it's even a problem..

ic. but juss wondering if it taking longer to warm up is worst or better?

 

yes the mugen thermostat will make the engine take longer to warm up.


eventually once you drive it long enough it will reach normal operating temprature.

ic, kool. wondering how long should i let my car warm up b4 i drive.. i know a NA car u just turn it on. and drive it slowly off. but mines turbocharged. im remember it was 3 mins b4 taking off ? or when my temp needles moves ?
