Default how did this happend?!...

i have gsr, just got a new alternator and alternator belt about a month ago, and since then the car was only driven probably for a good 150-200 miles then today on the way back home after i shifted from 5th to 4th to 3rd..cause my friend on the passenger was blown away by the sound of vtec roaring up to 9000 from the chipped ecu i have, n e way, as i shift up normally for cruising speed, my battery indicator light turns on, thought it was my battery, so when i got home popped hood then saw NO ALTERNATOR belt!, i think it must of snapped off somewhere along the freeway!, so i went to Honda and just bought a new OEM belt, a few bucks more then the autozone duralast belt. When i first put it on, it was secure and tight made sure nothing was in the way, what could have it possibly be?, just poor quality duralast belt? then again on the pulley where the end of the belt goes to, not the alternator pulley itself....but in the middle groove theres one tiny area that is slight bent, could that have been eating away the belt and just randomly snapped?...imma have to put a new belt again before i go to my mechanic for more maintenance work and possible headwork ..

Was the alternator loose wheen you first saw the belt was gone? As in you forgot to tighten the bracket back down?

it was tightened enough plus i just got the car back from my friend's shop, but they didnt touch the alternator, or didnt need to, but it could possibly be that section of the pulley that is bent which was probably eating it away, but now i just finished up changing the belt, turned it on...and screeching sound??, never had that before when i put on the new belt.

maybe its the "9000 rpm" that you hit. The belt and pully can only take soo much. Too much tension + too many RPM's = 1 snapped belt.

hmm, i think so too cuz i was really taking it up and there and the motor can handle very well, i guess the belt couldnt.
