If anyone knows how to get it out i would really appreciate it. thanks!

yeah i know it's suppose to be painted, but like the guy before must of got those pieces brand new...and he like left this plastic **** on them...so it's peeling and stuff and the only way to get the plastic off is taking that piece out. You think it slides forward? lol i mean have no clue i just need to get out so i can get the plastic off and sand them.
ya I had to take mine off when I was painting my car. I know it slides in one direction and then pops up. so see if it will slide forward or backwards.. a flat head and a little tap of a hammer will tell you if its going to slide. so try both sides. and then it pops up :D
is it like everyone elses or my are like in plastic bag and inside the paint is kind of chiping and in some places the plastic is ripped well anyways i want to take them out take the plastic out and paint them and this is on my 93 prelude
had to buy new molding to replace missing ones on my car....all you need is a flat head screw driver...gently pop it up and slide the molding out.

I had my car painted and the guy painted over the pieces and it started to chip a little while later. I just removed the plastic cover at the base of the paint. Those strips have an aluminum base to them. It looks better once removed.
It's just what I did because I didn't want to fool with removing it...

I'm not sure about regular black rubber, but I'm sure you could DIY with some black spray paint if you remove them.
I'll try and post some pics soon of what mine currently look like.
