Default MORE OFF THE LINE POWER / Torque for My 2000 CIVIC SI

I just bought a 2000 Civic SI a couple months ago and was wondering if anyone had some part / upgrade suggestions I could do to my car to increase the torque and get off the line faster.

I noticed the the SI is really slow right off the line in first gear, It feels like it has no torque for the first couple of seconds, I mean it's great in the higher RPMs but I want to get off the line quicker, even my girlfriends 93 DOHC escort is quicker of the line than the SI.

Any suggestions on parts, engine internals, bolt ons, supercharger or turbo?
I have 45,000 miles on the car

G2 speed your a retard, this is like the 3rd thread I read in the last 5 min that you reported someone. Dont give them some bullshit information, then tell them to search. Post a link or something if your going to tell them to search, or it would be better if you didnt post.

maybe you should leave...people ask because they dont know.....

anyways back on topic

ant you can either change the block to a 1.8 or 2.0 block to gain some more low end torque or just get a simple turbo kit to gain a little...

B20B longblock, costs less than $500.

B20B block, B16 Head, B16 Tranny .... drag monster.

Sell your B16 shortblock .... that just paid for the install.

Even with a turbo on the car, the B16 is never going to make a lot of low end power. I have had so many different turbo sizes on a B16 and they are all still slow and underpowered until about 5000+.

The only way to make more power down low on this is to put in a larger motor.

well since he reported he needs off the line torque.....building boost at the line say with a good engine management or even msd ...that will be way more torque....

even with just a nitrous setup will be better off the line....b

Im pretty sure he's talking about for daily driving.

Although I think it would be funny to see a guy bouncing off the 2-step limiter at every stop light, just so he can have more "off the line power". lol

you know....i rarely see you helping in threads, i always see you posting stuff like this. that would explain why you have 1,500 more posts than me and are registered after me. you never post anything useful. you should look into that.
anyways, the past 3 or 4 guys gave intelligent answers to help out the op. thats what i was talking about.

I just took a Zex Wet kit off my 2000 Si, I had a 50 shot and I'm not sure how much torque it was giving me off the line, but it was definitely noticeable and hella fun!!!
