heat coming from center console through emergency/handbrake?!?!?! wth?!?!

Default heat coming from center console through emergency/handbrake?!?!?! wth?!?!

when im driving and i have my hand on the stick i notice heat coming from the opening where the emergency brake is. i felt around and it seems to me that heat is trapping through the entire center console. even behind the radio. what the heck is that!?!?!? thanks for the help

heat from your exhaust that's what heat shields are for maybe your are missing. just a guess

Considering that your hot exhaust and even hotter catalytic convertor are about 2 inches below that console, you should expect some heat in that area.

There's a rubber boot that goes around the base of your shifter under the console. Make sure that it's tight and not leaking. This is really common, especially if you've ever pulled the shifter for any reason.

When I last had my console off, I found that mine wasn't on all the way. I put it back on and the heat in my console went away for the most part.

i have this prob also, its started after i changed the exhaust and threw in a b&m SS, go figure.

its sucks though bc it heats up my drinks in the holders, that what erks me the most about it.

i will have to check my seals at my shifter now.

I put in my Skunk2 shifter, lost the rubber boot, and I always felt this hot *** heat from my center console. Bought a new rubber thing from the dealer. Problem solved. A week later went to the junkyard and could've just took one instead.
