6th Gen CEL question
I got a CEL code for the Mass Air Flow Sensor, Manufacturer Control, Air Fuel Mixture. At first I thought it went off because my air filter was dirty. I cleaned my filter with a cleaner and oiled it up and I'm still getting the same code. Any suggestions as to what might be triggering the code are welcome. Thanks

I don't think many 6th-gen engines even HAVE a mass air flow sensor.
Also tell us the code number. That's the REAL code, sometimes parts stores get the description wrong.

Thanks for the reply, my engine is an f23a4 (ULEV) and I don't know the code cause the guy at autozone didn't tell me. I just wrote down what was written on his code reader. I'll try to get the actual code today after work.

Some of the 7th-gen 4-cyl engines DO have MAF sensors so it's not an automatic conclusion.
If the parts store doesn't set the reader for Honda, then the description for any code above P0999 is bogus. By that I mean Ford & Honda & Chevy can use the same code # to mean completely different things. The actual code number is important.

Jim thanks again for the only helpful advice. I don't know why people say things when they don't know for sure(GreddyAccord). I haven't had a chance to stop by any auto shop yet and I don't know how to jump those wires to read the code off of my CEL but one of my buddies does so I'll post the actual code (and I'll PM you with the code) once I get it. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
First, Greddy may just be right. I don't know whether the ULEV engine has an MAF sensor or not. And not all years of F23A4 are identical either...
If you jumper the wires, you'll get a 2-digit code that's not as specific at the OBD-2 code. Go back to AutoZoned & see if you can get the OBD-2 code number.
Look over in the stickies in the Integra forum for a good list of ECU codes. Some Accord codes don't show up in the Integra list, but I don't think Honda ever used the same number to mean different things.

I think on the 6th-gen Accord, you won't find a separate SCS connector to jumper (like you will on earlier Accords). You jumper a couple pins of the OBD-2 port, but you have to be very careful about which ones. If you're unlucky, you can create an un-fused short & fry your ECU.

Greddy is correct.
To my knowledge, none of the recent Honda's sport MAF's. From Civics to Accords to the Acura lineups. Not sure about the Vigors and C32 Legends though.
I didnt know the 7th gens had them til JimBlake said.
The 6th gen's most definately dont have a MAF.

That sounds promising.
Just use the following link to test for the code, and find out the true problem.

to read the code yourself jump pins #8 and #13 on the DLC located on the left kick panel driver side of the car. turn ignition to "on" and count the # of short flashes and then the # of long flashes. This will be the code. (it might be the other way around in terms of flashes)
Thanks for all the replies and thanks for all the tips, I'm going to jump those wires today after work. I've read before how to read the codes I've just never done it myself. The links help a lot as well. I'll keep you guys updated once I've found the code. Thanks again.
