Bad water pump I guess?
I have a 1993 civic coupe ex. It has a b18c gsr with a t3/t4 turbo on it. I'm not sure if its my water pump or my radiator but it gets hotter than usual when just crusing over 50 mph (hwy speeds). It has a brand new thermostat and a brand new oem style radiator. I was thinking that the small oem style radiator (single core) wasn't cooling off enough, but then I just realized today that my engine is getting hot without driving much at all. Does this mean I have a bad water pump about to go out?? The fluid is pretty much new so I doubt that would be the problem. Thanks for any feedback.
1.) this is one of those situations where you should have purchased a huge-core eBay aluminum radiator due to your particular heat-output.
2.) it is also possible that the water pump is going out - and one of the many symptoms is the kind of overheating you describe - but it's more likely the super-heat-soaking you're giving to your thin-*** OEM style radiator
