Default stuck at a stand still

Okay so i'm like 2 clicks away from placing an order on a d15b engine. I just have a couple concerns, the engine does not come with the engine harness. Every tutorial i read on installation requires the use of both the stock engine harness (dx) and the new engine harness.
If the motor doesn't include it, are there any alternatives. To wiring up the motor to work in a 91 dx. Or would I need the d15b engine harness no matter what.

If you're ordering from HMO they don't give you thw whole harness, but all the plugs and wires are still attatched to the block. You'll be straight.

is there any other way around this. Have you seen any places that sell engine with the harness? Does the d16z6 engine harness plug into the d15b harness?

You don't need the whole harness, just the plugs.

He's right. You don't want to replace the harness, only modify it and add plugs for things like the vtec solenoid. You can hardwire it, but if ever it needs replacing you need to cut/re-solder wires plus it looks like ***.

how come your putting in a d15b? your current engine blown? if so.. ah i see.. if not, save up and do a swap to a b16 or b18.

i am going to go with a b18 from hmotors. their 88-91 b16 out of an sir1 ir only like 1500 bucks. compleate changeover. they also sell the hasport mounts and linkage chearper than hasport when u buy it with your change over. but if dire needs make for you not being able to wait.. i understand that. as for you cutting stock dx hardness and adding watever plugs from the engine your getting, yes, that is what you will be doing.

I don't really want a b16, I'm not planning on racing my car. I just want something a little more then what it has. The motor isn't blown, but it burns alot of oil.

well, you could always tear it down and build it for na or boost. hondatuning magazine hd a current bet going with another magazine on weather a boosted d series will beat a b series. and you dont have to race the b series, but it will make driving a 2,000 pound car a shitload more fun :D if i were you and did not want to swap, i would build the d series up and think about a vtec head for it as well. but you can get a b16 obd 1 complete changeover from h motors online for $1699. and you can get an lsd tranny with it for 300 bucks more. thats the one i am going with. the one i spoke about previously was obd0, and i want obd1 because it has a lot more tuning features for the enigne.

will the colors of the wires from the stock dx harness match the colors to the wires in the plugs on d15b they belong to.

well you cut the plugs off of the d15b engine and put them on your dx harness

If you hook up the d15b to the dx chassis harness the pins wont match up correctly

The colors won't match up, because, for example, there are no stock vtec wires, so you just run that yourself straight to the ecu.
