hey guys,
Well im new to my 1996 integra gsr... I just recently bought the car and it had to be cleaned.. so i cleaned the engine bay.. I covered the fuse box and the distributor and battery.. After that the car was running good.. drove it for maybe 100 miles.. and no problems.. until today.. it idles abit low and if i put the AC on.. it begins to spudder..when im driving it also spudders and it feels like its holding back.. it kinda sounds like a WRX, so im guessing its a misfire..i tried resetting the ECU but that didnt do anything.. the engine light just turned on after 10 mins. of driving it like this.. so what can it be?


ok so here's an update..this morning i looked at the car and realized that there was oil in the spark plug.. i went out and bought valve cover gasket and the spark plug gaskets too.. i replaced everything.. and no leaks or anyhting.. so i figured good.. the problem is solved.. wrong. the engine still acts weird.. and idle's weird now.. i reset the ecu.. and its still the same..i forgot to mention that i bought new sparkplugs and i still have the same problem.. also i have a coolan leak.. can the engine be acting wierd like this becuase of the leak?..

Just realized that after driving the car.. its only acts weird under 3k..

 

Are the revs jumping up and down?

 

during idle.. they jump very slightly.. not like from 800 to 900.. but mybe like 800-850

 

Sounds like you need to dry out the spark plugs or get new ones.

 

i bought new sparkplugs.. i have no idea what it can be.. =\

 

did u replace the distrubutor?

 

replaced the distrubutor cap.. and the spark plug wires and its all working now.. =] thansk for your help guys!

 

CHECK TO SEE IF ANY CODES ARE STORED IF YOU HAVE THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. IF ANY START FROM THEIR. ALSO IF YOUR LOW IN COOLANT THE IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR WILL LET THE IDE GO UP AN DOWN. SOLVE THE COOLANT LEAK. ALSO IF COOLANT LEAK IS FIX AND THE IDLE IS STILL ERATIC REPLACE THE IAC VALVE(IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE) COMMON TO GO BAD ALSO.
